You no longer need to buy expensive graphics cards to play games
I heard about cloud gaming for quite a while now and my experience with it hasn't been great. I tried it a couple of times years ago — the quality was shit, the latency was huge and the overall experience was "meh".
So yesterday I signed up for Nvidia GeForce Now to give it another go and it's a revolution! For £20 a month they offer 4k resolution, with 100+ FPS in every game and near 0 latency. Even shooters like CS2 feel like they're running natively!
All this on a thin, quiet MacBook Air while I'm lying in bed, relaxed. No need to buy bigass loud PCs to at least launch a game anymore.
Now, given that everything is being replaced by convenient SaaS nowadays, and 5G is being rolled out on mass, what's to stop services like GeForce Now becoming THE way to play games in 5 years' time, rather than buying actual GPUs and building your own PC that will eventually become obsolete?
